We did our OWD here and were completely thrilled.
The team was super nice and the chemistry with the diving instructor couldn't have been better. Many thanks to Mahmoud.
My girlfriend had serious problems with the pressure equalization... she gave great tips and a lot of patience.
At the beginning I was overwhelmed by the water temperature (February) and was almost hyperventilating... so much so that I actually wanted to give up...the diving instructor also took away my "panic". For the next dive, extra thick suits were immediately ready for us. 🤣💪👍
Theory was always discussed so that the exam was easily doable with a little learning.

For €100 we should have done Snorkeling in 3 different places.
Those at Red Sea were only occupied by those who were diving, while all customers for Snorkeling were totally ignored.
They should only do diving trips and not lie to customers who only want to do Snorkeling.

The best diving center in Hurghada! Great people. Super friendly and cheerful instructors. Some of the best prices around. Great atmosphere on the boat. Everything organized as it should be. I participated in 8 boat dives. They all went perfectly. The price included trips to nearby islands to rest after diving. Best regards to the boss, Karim, Mido and Mahmud and the rest of the team!

Great experience! We dived 4 days, everyday on a different place, two dives per day. After all we were taken to a beautiful Islands just to enjoy the sun and chill. But the best here is staff! Guys are very nice, kind, helpful, with a sense of humour which made us having precious time, I will miss you! Great atmosphere on the boat, good guiding under the water, polite and kind boss. Nothing more than huge recommendation, five stars is too less ❤️

I can’t recommend this dive center enough. From the communication before hand, advices, the guides, captain, the food , obviously the dives, incredible landscape marine life and corals…. Everything was so great I had a perfect day. Do not hesitate to book with them, everybody was incredibly nice. Thank you so much! I will definitely come back and recommend you. See you soon!

This was a surreal moment!! The guys were amazing. I don’t know how to swim and never done diving before and I still did it (twice). The guys were so friendly, the instructors were very patient and communicated well. I would highly recommend this for non-swimmers, beginners divers and professional divers! Conclusion: The worst dive center we have ever had
On the Internet the dive center is called: “Dive Academy Red Sea”, on site it says “Red Sea Class Diving Center”.
Many employees just stand around in the DC (smoking, tea, babbling). Boss would rather count euros than classify the employees. Most MAs seem to do the acquisition.
When concluding the contract:
Any amount is mentioned. The prices on the website are for decoration. So act. There is also a local price list that you usually don't see. We were quoted €375 for 6 diving days of 2 TG including 1 TG Salem Express. On their website it is €250 + €40.
It is promised to be somewhere different every day, but in reality we were at the first 6 spots, 5 times at the same one (Gotta Abu Ramada).
On the 2nd TT we were asked where we had been and we still drove to the same spot.
When you get sick, the discussions start. Typically Egyptians, speaking to each other in Arabic (although everyone can speak English), the results then in English or, if you're lucky, in German. In advance it was said “no problem, you’ll get your money back”. At the bottom of the confirmation there is a small 50% cancellation fee
The equipment is not properly maintained. One of my diving partners had a BCD shattered, another had both drain valves defective (cable torn) and unusable, and another had a leaky inflator hose on the bayonet. Luckily we had our own.
Many bottles often only had 175-185 bar and in many cases the bottle valve blew off after opening.
Professional divers are placed in a group with beginners.
Even as an AOWD you are not allowed to dive freely as a buddy team.
You only find out about the destination 1. Spot after you leave the boat.
The only useful employee is Shady.
You should be at the DC at 8:30 a.m., departure at 10:00 a.m. at the earliest. Return journey 5:00 p.m. / 5:30 p.m. (once even 6:30 p.m. because of the party island, the spots weren't that far away)
The crew on the boat just stands around (drinking coffee, smoking, chatting) and rarely lend a hand.
Divers always get the worst boat, snorkelers (with an additional stop on one of the tourist islands (paradise, beach) the better one.
The boats appear to be from other DCs. Poorly maintained to life-threatening.
Boats:
- Summer Wind: was ok
- Philopater: engine room full of water, toilet water and hand basin broken, railing on the left broken due to impact, no flushing water for equipment (both broken), one of the ladder bars broken and needlessly "patched" with a rope.
- Red Sea Scuba: Toilets don't work, otherwise ok
In the center, only one of two small cleaning pools (approx. 400 liters) was filled for all divers (6-12). But the water was never fresh, always cloudy and salty.
You are practically forced to buy the laundry service.
Diving is about speed. If you take part, you'll be at the top again after 45 minutes (12-14m) due to lack of air.
Inexperienced divers or those in training are not taught buoyancy control; instead, the guide takes them by the BCD and drags them behind them.

The equipment seems so old. There's probably no investment at all here. You couldn't help yourself to food. Something was given to you on your plate, which seemed like it couldn't feed even a small child. But the boat staff took plenty of their own. It really wasn't a nice trip for us. At the end we were forced to look at the pictures that had been taken in order to persuade us to buy it. All the positive reviews in no way reflect what we experienced here...
Price performance was simply not right here at all...

I can wholeheartedly recommend this diving school. We learned to dive in a thoroughly professional, extremely friendly, safe and structured manner. I felt very comfortable and extremely safe on the boat (very clean), with the equipment and staff. We got the international diving license within 3 days. The day begins in the morning with theoretical explanations and structured practical dives, coffee and tea. You have to complete various exercises during the dive. The instructors are very pleasant and efficient. During the lunch break you will be provided with a well-prepared buffet, fun included. In the afternoon, after a short siesta, the practical diving lessons continue. There are 2 dives per day. The exercises and small tests, which particularly serve the safety of the diver and his diving colleagues, are practiced repeatedly. You also have to read a small book. At the end of the day, back on the coast, you're already looking forward to the next day. The surrounding area, the Red Sea, is beautiful with its biodiversity and pleasant temperatures. The price-performance ratio was very, very good.

As a family we spent a wonderful week of diving with the Hany and Dive Academy Red Sea team in Hurghada. Every day we went out by boat for two dives and were treated to a delicious lunch in between. The young helpers on the ship are all extremely helpful and courteous, the experienced diving instructors and guides speak English and some also other languages such as German and Russian. We were at a new dive site every day and were always able to discover something new throughout the week. The prices are fair, equipment is well maintained and the boat “Layla” has all the necessary equipment for daily excursions. The easiest way to make a reservation is via WhatsApp with Hany (see website). Transfer from the hotel will be provided. We'll definitely be back! 🫶🐠🛥️🐬🤿

Nice experience, had a super good time with Mohamed and Ahmed. They are great instructors and had a lot of patience with us. Definitely recommend the experience for beginners. We did the PADI Open Water Certificate at their school.

Gerade mit der Dive Academy 2 wunderbare Tauchgänge erlebt. In der Lowseason arbeiten sie zusammen mit ihren Freunden von Minion Divers. Sie waren ein super eingespieltes Team, zuvorkommend und easy going. Das Essen war hervorragend. Der in einer anderen Rezension erwähnte Guide Ahmed war aufmerksam und komprtent. Aufgrund der grandiosen Google-Bewertung (158x 5,0 Sterne) sind wir auf die Dive Academy Red Sea aufmerksam geworden.
Die Homepage war übersichtlich gestaltet und die Kontaktaufnahme via WhatsApp war in deutscher Sprache, schnell, super freundlich und es blieben keine Fragen offen.
Daraufhin buchten wir per WhatsApp einen Tag mit zwei Tauchgängen sowie Leihausrüstung für den 10.11.2022.
Der Transferfahrer holte uns überpünktlich (5 Minuten vor der Zeit...) wie angekündigt vor dem Hotel ab und brachte uns ins herunter gekommene Eagles Resort nach Hurghada.
Dort angekommen, gingen wir mit ein überschaubaren Anzahl von Leuten an Bord der durchaus gepflegten "Layla" und legten ab.
Wie die Dive Academy Red Sea bei welcher wir ursprünglich gebucht hatten, mit den "Minion Divers Hurghada" zusammenhängt, welche unsere Ausfahrt durchführten, blieb uns ein Geheimnis.
Positiv aufgefallen und eine Premiere für uns war, dass uns das erste Mal beim Tauchen im Ausland deutschsprachige Formulare vorgelegt wurden, welche obligatorisch auszufüllen waren.
Die Crew war freundlich/ zuvorkommend und die geringe Teilnehmerzahl verteilte sich angenehm über das Schiff.
Auch das zwischen den Tauchgängen angebotene Buffet war gut und reichhaltig.
Zu trinken gab es ausschließlich Markengetränke.
Unser Guide, welcher wie sich ganz zum Schluss heraus stellte, Achmed hieß, stellte sich mit dem Satz vor, dass er müde sei und lieber schlafen gehen würde...
Dies wiederholte er während der ganzen Ausfahrt mehrfach und unterstrich meinen gewonnen Eindruck ihm gegenüber.
Die Leihausrüstung war leider in einem schlechten Allgemeinzustand !
So waren bei unserer beiden Tauchjackets jeweils die hinteren / unteren Schnellablassventile defekt (Ziehvorrichtung abgerissen !).
Ebenfalls haben wir es auch noch nie erlebt, dass innerhalb einer Gruppe von 4, bzw. 6 Tauchern, welche wir darstellen, zweimal die 1. Stufe des Atemreglers vor dem Tauchgang nicht in Ordnung war und ausgewechselt werden musste !
Das darf nicht passieren und spricht Bände über die Wartung an Land.
Das Briefing unseres Guides war eine Katastrophe !
Für den ersten Tauchgang wurde lediglich erwähnt, dass wir bei 100 bar Restluft zurückkehren würden.
Beim zweiten Mal kramte er kurz eine versiffte Taschenkarte hervor, auf welche wir einen sehr kurzen Blick werfen konnten, bevor diese wieder vom Tisch verschwand.
Die betreffenden Spots Haru Deleta und Shaab Petra mögen vielleicht für den Ausbildungsbetrieb aufgrund ihrer sandigen Beschaffenheit und geringen Tiefe (max. 10 Meter) ideal sein, aber für Urlaubstaucher wie wir es sind, gab es hier nichts Sehenswertes.
Die Korallen vor Ort waren leider weitgehends zerstört, es gab einiges an Müll im Wasser und nennenswerte Meeresbewohner ließen sich auch nicht blicken, wofür der Veranstalter aber nichts kann.
Unter Wasser hielt sich die Motivation unseres Guides weiterhin in Grenzen und es machte für mich eher den Eindruck, es handle sich um ein "Luftverbrauchstauchen", statt das er sich ernsthaft bemühte, uns etwas zeigen zu wollen.
Beim zweiten Tauchgang mutierte er zum vermeintlichen Starfotografen und begann die Buddy-Teams zu fotografieren.
Die drittklassigen Bilder wurden uns später auf der Rückfahrt zum Hafen kurz und knapp auf seinem Handy gezeigt und zum Kauf angeboten.
Schlecht für ihn, denn so kam er um sämtliches Trinkgeld.
Schade - ich hatte mich sehr auf diesen Ausflug gefreut und wir hatten aufgrund der verbleibenden Resturlaubszeit noch insgeheim weitere Folgetauchgänge mit der Dive Academy Red Sea geplant, ließen es dann aber aufgrund der gemachten Erfahrungen dabei.

Der Chef des Teams, Mr. Hany El Hady, organisierte die Arbeit an der Vorbereitung des Tauchkurses sowie die technischen Geräte und das Unterhaltungsprogramm für die Gäste sehr – sehr gut.

Meiner Meinung nach eine sehr gute Taucherschule. Das Personal ist sehr hilfsbereit und nimmt sich viel Zeit mit den Schülern. Absolut empfehlenswert!!!

Klasse Tauchschule mit super kompetenten Lehrern und immer für einen Spaß zu haben. Habe dort meinen Tauchschein gemacht (ohne Vorkenntnisse) und mich bestens aufgehoben gefühlt. Die Wissensvermittlung und Übungen unter Wasser bereiten einen bestens vor und es macht einfach riesen Spaß. Die Spots, die angesteuert werden, sind super und die Unterwasserwelt faszinierend. Sollte ich irdengwann nochmal nach Hurghada fliegen, dann würde ich meine Tauchgänge definitiv wieder hier buchen.

I spent five days diving with them, great boat and very helpful and friendly crew. So many good memories in these five days. I achieved my No. 100 dive, I swam and played with dolphins for 5 mins(lucky me). Thanks to my dive guide Naser, with 10➕ years experience he can always find special stuffs undersea, he also gave me useful diving tips which help my diving skills(buoyancy) improved. Thank you Hany (the big boss ) you made me feel home on your boat.

We went with these guys our my first ever diving experience and found that they are a group of experienced, friendly and open-minded professionals.
Would recommend. If you have the chance to have them as instructors, you are in good hands.
Must try again! 🙂
P.S. Still they have the beautiful Red Sea to work with, so they have (at least some) of their work cut out for them - but, seriously, they made a good impression on me. Good guys!

We did our Open Water Advanced Certification with the Dive Academy and it was a great choice! The team is very knowledgeable and professional, our instructor Ibrahim was very kind, patience and friendly, he took good care of us in every dive to ensure we understood the lessons and made the right practices.
The diving spots were stunning, we have dives in many top places worldwide and the Red Sea will remain as one of our favorite ones.
We spent wonderful 2 days in a boat with a team full of nice people! We also got a delicious lunch, it’s all well thought and design for you to enjoy.
Thanks Hany and all the team and specially to Ibrahim for this great experience, we hope to come back soon.

Nach anfänglichen Schwierigkeiten, Bedenken und Angst haben wir uns hier den Open Water Diver Kurs gebucht. Was soll ich sagen das Personal. Ist super freundlich, der Tauchlehrer (Saleem) einfach nur professionell, freundlich und geduldig. Es war zu keiner Zeit ein Unwohlsein oder ähnliches vorhanden

Mein Freund und ich haben spontan das Padi Open Water im roten Meer gemacht. Die ganze Crew ist sehr zu empfehlen. Alle waren stets freundlich und gut gelaunt. Unser Tauchlehrer Mohamed sprach super gut deutsch und hat uns alles sehr gut erklärt. Er hat einen richtig tollen Job gemacht! Hany holte uns morgens jeweils vom Hotel ab, brachte uns abends wieder sicher zurück und war immer für ein Schwätzen zwischendurch auf dem Boot zu haben. Nicht zu vergessen, das Essen auf dem Boot war immer lecker 🙂 Das ganze Team hat uns ein absolut tolles und unvergessliches Abenteuer beschert! DANKE!!

Первый раз пробовала дайвинг, все отлично, все понравилось. Был отдельный инструктор (рускоговорящий), который погружался с каждым по одному (поэтому было не страшно). Предварительно, до погружения, был пройден инструктаж. Вообщем-то остались очень довольны. Дополнительным бонусом было увидеть дельфинов.

Dive Academy Red Sea in Hurghada is warm recommendation for the beginners. Team of professionaliests and relaxing atmosfere on the boat will make your first dive to be easy, relaxing and wonderful experience. Also, it was amazing to investigate coral reef with colorful underwater world which I will never forget.

I am a qualified Ocean Diver and had 6 dives with Dive Academy in October 19. I had the best time!
I was on a solo holiday and felt very comfortable and relaxed with the boat and dive staff. The divers shared the boat with the snorkelers and we had plenty of time to relax between dives. Lunch was ample with a great selection of food for everyone. Friendly professional team and will definitely dive with them again when I return to the Red Sea. 100% recommend!
